PASTELLY

Hey you there! How was your day? I hope you’re wonderful! Anyway, since I have stayed in here for 4 months (time run so fast) I really miss my friends in my home university. I miss spending my time with them. I also miss sewing task hahaha. I’m totally forget about the basic of patter clothes. So sad. It means after arriving home I need to study it again #ugh.
Well, last semester I got an assignment about “Making Dress for your Friend” that means I have to work in group (only 2 person) and I make dress for my friend then vice versa. That was a challenge for me, because I never make a dress by myself. So, the dress design is up to us. There’re steps to make the dress becomes real:

1.       Sketch the design as we want and give the color!
2.       Measure the body’s size.
3.       Make the pattern based on the sketch that we have made.
4.       Decide and buy the fabric.
5.       Put the pattern on the fabric, then cut!
6.       Sewing!
7.       Fitting!
8.       Sewing!
9.       Fitting!
10.   FINISH! #YEAY

But, it’s still depend on dress’ design. The more difficult the dress’ design, so it’s more steps as well. Those are basic steps. For my dress that I made actually more than those 10 steps hahaha.

So, the idea of the dress that I wanted to make is a black mini dress. Didn’t forget to match it with my friend’s body and her look. Because my friend, Kathleen has shorty-fatty body #oopsPEACE. So I decided to make a black mini dress. Because black clothes can make people look slimmer or vice versa. And It’s easy to use in every opportunity (parties). Besides that, black is neutral color that can represent elegances, sexiness and mysteriousness. But, because I also like CUTE THINGS. I wanted it has a short volume skirt.
The idea of the dress (Fashion Illustration)
Then, I made the pattern with simple way. Yeah, my teacher gave us simple way for basic pattern. The hardest thing that make me confused during making the pattern was the skirt and the part of shoulder. As you’ve seen before on my sketch. I wanted the skirt has volume and with L-line, we called it L-line in fashion’s term. By helping from my lovely friend, Kathleen ahaha she helped me to finish the pattern. Because like every week we have to submit our progress of the dress.

Continuing to buy the fabric. I bought it in traditional market near my home university. I don’t know what is exactly the name of the fabric. At least it is not cotton or silk or velvet. Oh no ._. I forget everything about fabric #pffft. But I try to explain the fabric. Well, it’s not shiny but it’s like a matte lipstick if I compare with it hahah. Yeah It’s like a doff fabric. Little bit slippery and it’s okay to iron it. I hope those clues help you to guess lol.

After that, I cut every part and sewed them starting from the collar then the top then the skirt. And because I added something like “lace” on collar and chest part, so I need to sew them by my hand. Doesn’t matter for me, I love it. Anyway, I choose gold lace as a garnish on my dress #yeah. Gold means expensive. I love to combine black with gold things. It makes more expensive!

Moving to connect the collar – top – and skirt by sewing them. When connecting the collar and top was fine but when the top part and the skirt part, it was so difficult. Because it’s so long by following the round between them. And it’s hard to explain too #poorofme. And the sad thing was when I asked my teacher after sewing them, she said “you need to add furring inside”. The furring means by lining/covering inside part, so then the front part not touching directly to your body. Do you get it? Lol so hard to explain #sorry. Yeah, you know I went back again to buy kind of furring fabric and cut as the pattern and sew again and connect it again. Soo sucks.

The final dress looks :3 (yeah bit failed  for the skirt, but that's fine :p)

And I missed the shoulder part. One of difficult part of this dress. Well to be honest. For the finishing, again my friend (Kathleen) she helped me to finish my dress lol. Indeed she’s more expert than me. She said “you know Nit, the shoulder’s part is so difficult! I almost stressful because of it”. I just laughed at her ahahha. No, of course I appreciated her helped. Without knowing by my teacher, on the final show with my confidence I admitted that was making by me. I know it cheated. But, BUT there’re still few of my friend more cheating than me. I mean, they gave their dress to the tailor. I don’t want to mention their name. Just let them. At least, I did 80% by myself and I proud of me haha :p
Me and Kathleen. I'm wearing hers and she's wearing mine :p lol

Continuing my adventure story in Thailand. So, last Monday on 14 November 2016 I skipped my afternoon class. Umm, yeah it is because I want to celebrate Loi Krathong in Bangkok with my Indonesian friends. But, I’m not really often to skip my class, I swear! I also had asked my Thai friend to tell the Ajarn (teacher) in that class anyway #yeah.

For you guys who still don’t know what is Loi Krathong, I will tell you then or for more informations you can ask uncle Google. Well, as my friend said, Loi Krathong is a festival where Loi means float and Krathong is a small lotus-shaped container. This festival is celebrated by all Thais. Thais will float the Krathong on the river. My friend said that basically Thais float it to make a wish and another of my friend said it use to get rid of the bad things. But, another person that I know (You-Know-Who) he said the Krathong is made to give thanks to the river because water is important things for human life. At least he means “Without water human cannot live”. That’s right, I agree. Can you imagine if earth doesn’t have water? Of course, I die. You die. We die. And I think, there’s no human.

For all explanations that I’ve mentioned are true, but I you still doubt just go to uncle Google. But if you believe me, let’s continue :p

Another part in Thailand has different way to celebrate Loi Krathong Festival. For example in the North Thailand, Chiang Mai. Thais in there celebrate Loi Krathong and Sky Lantern. I don’t know exactly. But I heard from my friend who went there said she flew a Lantern also floated the Krathong. But in Bangkok, people only float the Krathong. Maybe because Chiang Mai hasn’t full with tall building and still near with wide nature, that’s why people can easily blow away the Lantern. I don’t know, just guess.

So, because I wonder how Thais celebrating Loi Krathong (although I have watched on Thais Movie). But, I am really curious. I want to float my Krathong #yeah. Then, I bought a Krathong near Tha Prachan pier. It’s 25 baht. There’s a lot of type of Krathong that Thais people sell. And variation price as well. The Krathong that I bought is from bread. My friend said, bread Krathong is better because fishes in the river can eat that. That makes sense. Each of us bought it.

The Colorful Bread Krathong
We went to Asiatique for celebrating Loi Krathong #YEAY. Again, my friend said Asiatique is the main place for this celebration. Before it was near Grand Palace but because of the King’s death, so it moved to there. That was my first time to visit Asiatique. And so crowded. I went there by boat from pier near Grand Palace (I forget the name). It took almost half hour. Lil’ bit longer, but I enjoyed the night view from boat. The lights was so pretty.

Asiatique The Riverfront (the complete name) is a large open-air mall in Bangkok, Thailand. I can say that this place is kind of a romance place for shopping. How come??! Well, it’s not only the place hear river (feels like Jack and Rose haha) but, there are many things which represent romance in this place. For example, a big white 'Ferris Wheel' which is as the point interest of Asiatique. If you go with your boy/girlfriend you must get inside and see the view of Bangkok on carousel together. That’s sweet. But it’s not free. You need to pay 300 baht for adults and 250 baht for kids. Expensive, yeah.
"My Krathong belongs to you*"
The another thing is a lock love umm a fence love umm or a fence lock love? I don’t know the name exactly. There’s a mini garden with many padlocks such as thing a bridge in Paris. Yup, you can lock your padlocks at the fence and write your name and your lovely person hahaha “Love in Bangkok” not “Love in Paris”. That’s sweet.

Because it was so dark, so this source by ameba.jp
Not only that two, you also can buy kind of souvenir as well. Oh yeah! If you interested with Ladyboy show you can find one place named Calypso Cabaret. But I think you have to book the ticket first. In here.

Back with my Krathong. I tried to float it by myself anyway. So happy because it wasn’t upside-down. I use a long bamboo to float it. Because the distance between the river and the ground is higher so people and I need a long bamboo. My Krathong represent my wishes.

;
Me and My Indonesian Friends before floating our Krathong
So crowded, I felt like in Chatuchak. Then we went back around 9.30 PM by shuttle bus (it’s FREE). But, unfortunately the shuttle bus stopped behind the Grand Palace. I wished it will stop near Pin Klao, my friend’s dorm is in there. Finally, we took a Tuk-Tuk. Wasn’t really excited when I tried Tuk-Tuk because I was too tired and sleepy and hate the price #oops. But yeah, it was exciting day. At least, I’ve got something new related about Thai culture.

SEE YAAA GUYS! #YEAH

YEAY! Updating for my story in Thailand. This week I went to Chatuchak. It is the most popular and largest market for souvenir, stuffs, goods, and everything you can get in Thailand. Also, this is my FIRST TIME to visit here after 3 months passed staying in Thailand. I went there with Maria and my roommate, Yuka. Actually, this is Maria’s idea to go there. In short, we left almost 3 PM by a van which is provided in Thammasat Uni, Rangsit. And it’s 30 baht per each person.
Well, I was so EXCITED! But wait.. I missed something. Um, before Maria said that we will go to JJ Market. But then, we were in Chatuchak. I was lil bit confused at first, but then I enjoyed everything. I still have a time to visit JJ Market later.

Firstly, for the environment. It looks similar like a park in Malang (East Java, Indonesia) when I passed the RMT park. Oh yeah, we walked down to the RMT to get to Chatuchak, because it's across the van's stop. I hope you can imagine it lol It’s difficult to explain, I'm sorry. Then, Welcome to CHATUCHAK! It also looks similar with kind of markets souvenir in Bali, such as Sukawati or Kuta or Tanah Lot. But Chatuchak is largerst!

We were really walking around this market. Maria wanted to buy a Backpack and a Silk cloth. Yuka wanted aroma therapy oil. And me, I need gift for my bestie friend Fanny (remember her?) and clothes for my moms. Well I tell you, I have a lot of moms and dads haha in my home country.

The weather was so friendly! No rain and no shine. Soo lovely. Firstly, we visited kind of ceramic stuffs. Actually I hate kind of this place because they are easy to broke if you don’t keep watching on them. “Don’t touch, it won’t be broken”. The ceramics are so beautiful and unique. Just looked around and took a picture of them then leave, ahaha.

Something that make me wonder is about the electricity cables in Thailand. Why it is so random and sometimes I think it's too short to put? Why it clots into one big cable? Why it looks so scary? WHY? I never ask my Thai friends about this anyways. I forgot hehe. But yeah, it’s something small but it can be a big big problem by my sight. Not only electricity cable in Chatuchak, almost in Bangkok-Pathum Thani (the areas I use to pass). Even near my dorm. What do you think? Do you think it’s fine for you or you think so? Don’t want to blame the cable, it just looks crazy and scary ._.v

can you see those cables ._.

So crowded with bunch of people and a lot of shop choices which can make you confused and want to bring them all home. Every time I go to kind of market I always find this kind of soap. Organic soap which has smell that matching with the shape of it. Also, there’s place of arts like painting that people can buy and request.

yummy mango soap
Finally! Dried snack of Thailand! Yeah, this one is also on my list for souvenir. There’s some places that sell this kind of snacks. Even, we can try them as free, haha. Well, my family really like durian. And I plan to buy some of dried durians.

a lot of  snacks souvenir for your family :3
As what I said, there’re a lot of things that you can find in here. I visited interesting places. Then I found cute stuffs! There was a statue shop of animals. And fake flower shop! And I think some of Indonesian Online Shop in Instagram get stuff from here. Exact, women clothes. So cheap! It’s around 100-200 baht.

Cute kitten statue that I took :3
#PASTELLY cute stuff ahhhhh
#PASTELLY cute stuff ahhhhh
Started hungry, I tried a bread which mostly people buy it. I paid 50 baht to get 3 sticks of that bread. And Maria tried coconut ice cream, looks delicious but so expensive for me, ugh. I forget the price. At least up to 50 baht. There’re also a lot of choices of food that you can try!

the breads and the coconut ice cream :9

Also, we had dinner in there too. Randomly, we tried one of food corner in there. First, I don’t like how they serve us. Second, I don’t like the food choices. Third, I don’t like the price, it doesn't match with the look and taste. Fourth, I don’t like when they missed my egg. Last, I don’t like they scream close to my ear. That’s all. Soo sad. I will never back again. And after that, we went back around 6.30 PM. Really a long day, we had waited for the bus near Chatuchak gate almost 2 hours. We had asked people to make sure whether the bus number 510 will pass in there or not. Two people said YES. But then, when Maria asked a lady, she said that we have to walk to another gate to get that bus. She said bus no 510 doesn’t pass in there. Yeah, so sad.

Waiting for another minutes in 2 bus station. We also asked people around to make sure (again). Well, because this is my first time, so I have no Idea. And as long as we waited there, finally we took a bus number 29 that goes to Future Park. Not bad. We took a taxi from there to get to Chiang Rak road. What a long day. We arrived around 9.40 PM.

Doesn’t matter for me. I enjoyed on that day. So fun, even though so sad too I spent almost 600 baht huhu. But, I’m happy finally I got blouse for my moms :3

Yuhuuu, welcome back to my blog Fashion peeps! I hope you guys are fine. So, this week I want to talk about FASHION SHOW *woohoo. For you guys who love fashion it’s familiar, right? Runway or catwalk are things that you will see in Fashion Show. And the most important is the collection of the international fashion designers in the runway stage. Talking about runway, what is that? In fashion, a runway, catwalk or ramp is a narrow, usually flat platform that runs into an auditorium or between sections of an outdoor seating area, used by models to demonstrate clothing and accessories during a fashion show. And in fashion show there’s a theme name of term for the collection. If you watch video runway fashion show for example Channel of Dolce & Gabbana, they have theme names for their collection like Spring/Summer, Fall/Winter, etc.

Other than that, there are still some another fashion theme names that may be confusing to shoes who lay about fashion, maybe you? So, check this out :P

Actually, there’re still a lot of fashion terms that you have to know. But, because I have limit post, so maybe I will continue to the part two? I hope I remember that :p hahha. I think these 5 terms like the most of fashion show theme. Hope this post help you to know more about fashion and related. Honestly, I also just learned it hahaha.

Before on my previous post  you had known about kind of style right?  So in here I want you to know the different between STYLE and Fashion.
Which is Style is the definition but fashion is the trend.  And, guess this Fashion!

FINALLY I GOT AN IDEA FOR MY POST T^T #pffttt

Sorry, I just stuck of idea this week and I’m not being as professional writer today haha. Because I want to tell story about…… ME *yeay! It is not totally about myself, it’s about my journey in sketching experience hahaha sounds COOL, right? Well, I just stalked on my pinterest post to find an idea. And TARAAAA! GOTTCHAA! there’re some of my old sketches! Talking about sketch, do I like drawing? YES! Do I like fashion? YES! Do I want to be A Fashion Illustrator? YESS! Can I be A Famous Fashion Designer? YESSSS! Can I be A Model of Victoria Secret? (HELL NOOO!) Hey WHAT?? Do you think so? (YES) Hey easy. I can be one of Angel in there you know. I just need a plastic surgery :p ahhahaha.

Okay, sorry. But YESS! I want to be A FAMOUS DESIGNER in the future! My inspiration is Coco Chanel and I adore her so much :,) you have to watch her biography movie! Wait, where are we? Ohh, YEAHH SKETCH! Well, my dad ever said that my passion is in drawing. Because, since I was kid (in playgroup) I really like drawing and coloring. Even, I like doodled on the wall at that time, hehehe. But I never realize that my hobby is my passion. I mean, when I was in elementary school, I just liked drawing sketch of clothes. I got inspiration from TV then I tried to make it by my own. At that time, my dream was be a Doctor. I thought be a doctor is very COOL because I can save human’s life. But in fact, I’m afraid to see blood. And I also thought that drawing is just kind of kid’s hobby and doesn’t have something special. Indeed, I always won in every drawing competition in my elementary school. It just because I wanted to get a new BOOK! You know, I never buy books because of that. I really loved collecting books. Even, I didn’t want to use them, because I love them. And by the time, I love internet than anything :p hahaha. THEN WHERE’S MY SKETCHES ??!!

Only seven? Well, I have a lot of sketches. But only 7 of them that I can present. And thank you so much for reading this boring post hahaha. Sometimes you need to upload something that you think it’s memorable or fun or important. So then if you miss it, you can visit it and see what you’ve done in the pass. And 10 years from now, I won’t forget this post. But heyy, do you think I can be a fashion design in the future? If you pray for me, I will make you a wedding dress then :P

Since I arrived in Thailand. I saw his pictures everywhere. I thought the King Rama IX is still around 40ties or 50ties. I don’t know that those pictures were an old picture of him. I ever said to my friend that Thailand is so clean. That’s the impression for my first coming. And I was wondering about the King at that time. My friend ever said “I heard, The King Rama IX is the only one of the Kings who ever go around the world when he was young to learn the different culture and development to make Thailand better before he being a King”. I don’t know is that true or not, but those words so amazed me! And I said to my friend “I wonder why, even this is a Kingdom country. The people look prosperous and happy. Thailand is amazing!”. Why I said like that, because do you know the King in North Korean? He’s so a dictator! Totally, he’s the opposite of King Rama IX. So Lucky Thai people have him for 70 years! And honestly, I also cried when I watched a video on Youtube about mourning of Thai people who come and gather at Sanamluang Park. I can feel the sadness (besides that I’m so maudlin person T^T). Well as the name suggest on my title, I want to tell about 5C in my opinion about him :)

13th October 2016 will be the one of my story in Thailand that I won’t forget and of course for Thais. As remember, although I’m not Thai I really love your King your country Thailand and of course your university Thammasat. So glad to be here. And I also was born in the reign of King Rama IX of Thailand *yeay! STAY STRONG THAI PEOPLE! My deepest condolences. Rest In Peace Your Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej.
